  • Short Bio / Excerpt:

Adeline Chan (Chan Hok Ming) is a forward-thinking architect, technology entrepreneur, and academic who serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of AAL INNOVATION, Hong Kong's first artificial intelligence startup dedicated entirely to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Operating at the intersection of spatial design and advanced software, she has built a prominent reputation for spearheading digital transformation and AI integration within the built environment. Alongside her commercial pursuits, she serves as a vital community builder and tech strategist within the Asia-Pacific region.

Before pivoting into tech-entrepreneurship, Chan built a strong competitive edge in athletics and elite architectural consulting. From 2013 to 2019, she served as a dedicated athlete on the Hong Kong National Taekwondo Team. Academically and professionally, she trained as an architect, earning credentials as a UK licensed, registered architect (ARB UK RIBA) and an accredited NEC4 ECC project manager. Over more than a decade, she accumulated hands-on design and management experience across various high-profile firms and institutions, including serving as a Deputy Design Manager for Dragages Hong Kong Limited and handling large-scale commercial developments at Lead8.

Chan’s deep research into technological inefficiencies within the real estate and construction sectors laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial transition. Engaging with over 200 industry stakeholders and evaluating more than 100 AI startups, she recognized a major gap between available machine-learning technologies and actual market workflows. In April 2024, she launched AAL INNOVATION alongside CTO Annie Zhang. Under her leadership, the fast-growing consultancy guides businesses through strategic AI literacy training, tender processing automation, and targeted implementation roadmaps to future-proof the regional AEC sector.

Parallel to her executive role, Chan is deeply involved in shaping tech policy and industry dialogue across Hong Kong. She serves as a founding member and the Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Association of Hong Kong (AIHK) Women’s Council, advocating for female leadership in a male-dominated tech landscape. Her cultural and curatorial contributions to the built environment are equally notable; she was selected by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects as a Curator for the Hong Kong Shenzhen Bi-city Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (UABB), overseeing tech and exhibitor liaisons.

Chan also dedicates her time to nurturing the next generation of innovators through several prestigious academic appointments in Hong Kong. She serves as a Part-time Lecturer at Hong Kong Shue Yan University within the Department of Journalism and Communication. Furthermore, she bridges humanities with modern computer science by acting as a Capstone Project Supervisor for the Master of Science in Generative AI for Humanities program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Through her unique combination of public policy, academic mentorship, and AI consultancy, Chan remains a critical driver of modern architectural evolution.
